348 Serie Speciale
Between 1992 and 1993 Ferrari made 100 units of the 348 Serie Speciale of tb and ts versions. It was a limited edition only made for the US market.
The main technical modifications consisted in:
- A revised engine produced 312bhp at 7,200rpm
- A wider rear track (50mm)
- A free flow exhaust system
- A shorter ratio final drive and Pirelli P Zero tires
Ferrari indicates a 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds and a standing ¼ miles in 13.75 seconds
Several modifications were made to the body design as well:
- New front spoiler to optimize aerodynamics similar to the F40
- New front grill with chrome prancing horse
- Bumpers and rocker panels in body color
- Engine cover in body color
- Modified taillight assembly
- New rear grill with chrome prancing horse
- The door panels were also modified and made of leather
The cars were offered with F40 style sport Carbon Fiber Racing Seats in Connolly leather
Each car is numbered (1 to 100), with a 348 Serie Speciale plate on the passenger’s side door-post. My car is #52 and its designated on a plate on the passenger’s side door panel.
In 1994, a further 15 additional units were produced, bringing the total production of this limited edition to 115.
This car is going to escalate in value over the next few years and we believe that its one of the best examples in existence. #095017 priced fairly at initial base price of $105,500.00, $13,268.00 below new cost when it left the showroom other low production Ferraris of similar years are bringing multiples of their original selling price and this example should follow in the near future.
